Saigon Ranked Among The World’s 18 Best Cities For Street Food

Lifestyle and travel site, Thrillist, has ranked Saigon as one of the world’s top 18 cities for street food, taking into account uniqueness of traditional food/drink style, quality of restaurants/bars and diversity of cuisines.

“Sooo... first of all, most of the locals call it Saigon, still. Second, this city -- full of conflicting imagery, passions and flavors left over from colonial France, combined with Vietnam's own flavorful cooking led to the creation of one of the best sandwiches in the world (bahn mi). Third, there is a reason nearly every trendy coffee shop in the states serves their intensely sweet yet addicting coffee,” wrote Thrillist.

Other cities on the list include Bologna, Italy; Bombay, India; New York City, USA; Cartagena, Colombia and Hong Kong, China.

While delicious food is available in nearly every alley and thoroughfare in Saigon, check out this guide to the city’s best street food streets.
