[Video] Meet the Man Behind Singapore’s Michelin-Starred Hawker Stall

Last week, two Singaporean hawker stalls made history by becoming the first-ever Michelin-starred street food establishments.

At Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle, chef Chan Hon Meng was both surprised and honored to learn that his business would be one of the few talented chefs awarded a Michelin star for outstanding cuisine. At just SGD$2 (VND33,000), Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle is now also the cheapest Michelin-starred dish in the world.

Listen to Chef Chan himself share the story of how he became a chef and what it was like to represent Singapore’s hawker stalls at the Michelin Guide award ceremony.
