[Podcast] Renovation Generation: Hanoi's Viral Cartoonist Xuan Lan

In the thirteenth installment of Hanoi-based English-language podcast Renovation Generation, narrator Maia Do sat down with one of Hanoi's most popular illustrators, Xuan Lan to discuss drawing cartoons in two languages, art, and her love for Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Over the last few years, the Hanoi artist has managed to establish a considerable fan base from posting her quirky illustrations on her Facbook fanpage and Instagram. When Lan is not busy turning her thoughts into whimsical drawings, she spends her day teaching English at the Vietnam National University in Hanoi.

In the 12-minute podcast, Lan also discussed her creative process, being recognized by her idol, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and why she would love to take a modern-day camera back to the bao cấp era.
