According to VN Express, the city's Department of Planning and Architecture has submitted plans for a 500-square-meter coffee shop to be built on the northwestern side of the post office.

In order to balance out the recently installed Dunkin Donuts on the opposite side of the building, city officials are requesting the construction of a similar building, which would include a ground floor and mezzanine. The finished structure would stand at 5.95 meters high, the exact same height as its counterpart on the other side.

All exterior facades would follow the architectural style and color scheme of the existing post office and the front of the business would face Nguyen Van Binh Street rather than Cong Xa Paris, the road overlooking the Notre Dame Cathedral.

There is no word yet as to when the building might receive approval, but if it does then the finished cafe would serve coffee and snacks to guests.
