Vietnam Sees Record Tourist Arrivals in First Quarter of 2016

When it comes to tourism, Vietnam is back.

After a 13-month freefall that ended in August of last year, tourist arrivals to the country have gone the other way, reaching new heights in the first quarter of 2016.

According to data released by the General Statistics Office, the number of foreign visitors coming to Vietnam jumped up 19.9% during the first three months of 2016, reaching nearly 2.46 million arrivals.

Asian tourists were the most numerous, with 1.68 million visitors turning up between January and March, whereas Europeans accounted for 447,300 arrivals and Americans for 220,800. These groups grew by 25%, 11% and 11.4%, respectively.
