One note: at the moment we're sticking with the beloved Hẻm Gems name for our street food reviews in Hanoi, even though the term hẻm isn't used there. Hẻm Gems is a series that we all love to bits.

It started with stories about those little shops selling Vietnamese snacks that are hidden deep inside Saigon's labyrinth of hẻms; however, the series has since grown into a celebration of Vietnam's street food culture – from old-school coffee shops to sidewalk cocktail bars to a Syrian eatery in downtown District 1.

Needless to say, coming up with new name that can reflect all those things in Hanoi is no easy feat. Which is why we're asking for your input: let us know if we should retain the Hẻm Gems name for Hanoi-based reviews; and if not, share with us what you think is the best name for our series on the capital's street food.

We're excited to go on this journey with our readers, and we look forward to exploring Hanoi!
