Pho The Girls @ Kobala Bar Restaurant Rooftop

Pho The Girls is back and we are super excited to be bringing our latest graduates to play their very first set at Kobala.

Expect a night of genre-less vibes, a safe space and more importantly an empowering night for womxn and non-binary people as we change the shape of the future in the music scene here in Hanoi.

Some come down, throw some support and push the boundaries with us.

SYS Sister Sounds

SYS Sister Sounds is a community built to empower and push women and non-binary people in the creative and music industry. The core aim of the organisation is to encourage and uplift women in the music industry through radio shows, workshops and interviews with women and non-binary people globally.

Pho The Girls DJs

feral
feral is an aspiring DJ native to San Francisco, California. Growing up in the eclectic Bay Area music scene, her influences range from early 2000’s Hip Hop and R&B, to Techno, House, and Nu Disco. As a full-time hairstylist and beauty industry professional, she brings a lifelong creative perspective making her music selections a cut above the rest. feral has recently completed intro and advanced workshops with SYS Sister Sounds: Pho the Girls and a performance at Kobala in Tay Ho, Hanoi.

Darby-Gi
Compulsive UK digger, Darby Gi, graces the one's and two's with a kaleidoscope of rhythm. Melding ambience, soul, garage and everything in-between to get your hips moving.

hanontherun
Born and raised in Manila, hanontherun's musical journey began in her teens when she moved to Germany, where she found her passion for live music at rock festivals, punk concerts
and a whole bunch of small-town gigs. Coming back to her hometown in 2003, she started exploring the club scene and discovered funk, soul, RnB and jazzy hiphop.

Her full-time job has taken her everywhere from Berlin to Yangon, giving her a chance to explore music in different places and take in the vibe on the dancefloor or in the middle of
a festival crowd.

When she wants to retreat into her comfort zone, hanontherun listens to triphop and downtempo, climactic music.

Eshe
Hailing from Berlin, Eshe was always moving with the music scene. While places come and go from the city, she followed suit spending parts of her life in Scotland, Thailand and Vietnam, soaking up energy and beats. Curiosity has brought her to her academic life as a researcher but also behind the decks where she comforts people with RnB/HipHop/Funk tunes and EDM.
