Despite a lost palate, his talent is still respected and acclaimed in the whole city. However, at home where he lives with his three grown daughters, it’s a different story. The Sunday family gatherings, supposed to be shared moments of delicacies and honest discussions often turn sour as each of the girls aspire to a freer life out of the childhood cocoon. 
Ang Lee’s drama is a tender look at changing family dynamics in 1990s Taipei.
