From the organizer: Join us for a visit to the most stunning pagodas across Vietnam, introducing the latest book by French writer and photographer Nicolas Cornet: Vietnam Pagodas.
Nicolas’s talk coincides with the launch of his special exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum of Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam Pagodas invites us on an enchanting journey from north to south, through Vietnam’s ‘principal’ pagodas, temples and places of worship venerated by worshippers.
Across five chapters Nicolas offers a broad and varied vision of traditional pagoda architecture, while focusing on the artistic details of a rich, and sometimes underrated, national heritage. Like all the photography of Nicolas Cornet, capturing daily life within these extraordinary places completes the photographic narration and demonstrates the author’s unyielding attachment to Vietnam, which began more than thirty years ago.
Nicolas Cornet - a photographer, journalist and publisher - has been sharing his time between Europe and Asia for over thirty years. He has frequently contributed to major European newspapers and magazines and regularly collaborates with film crews and TV documentaries.
Art director and curator, he organizes festivals and photo exhibitions. He regularly leads photo workshops and photojournalism courses. He has exhibited in many countries: France, Germany, Switzerland, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
