Michael Brosowski from Blue Dragon Children's Foundation will share his incredible personal story from teaching in Australia, to Hanoi's National University, to founding a leading NGO in the fight against human trafficking. Michael is an expert in the field and will provide an update on the present situation in Vietnam, including the COVID impact on trafficking. Join us for an informative and inspirational talk from an exceptional person.

Human trafficking between Vietnam and China has a long history over many decades, as does the trafficking of people within Vietnam for forced labour. Since the coronavirus pandemic erupted in early 2020, trafficking cycles have been disrupted, but rather than ending, they have evolved and morphed.

Hanoi based Michael Brosowski has been at the frontline of the fight against human trafficking in Vietnam for almost two decades. Sydney born, Michael studied high school in rural NSW before completing an Arts/Education degree at the University of NSW. He worked as an English and ESL teacher for four years before returning to UNSW to work in Gifted Education while studying a Masters of Education.
In 2002, Michael moved to Vietnam to work for Hanoi's National University. Soon after, he established Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation in response to the overwhelming needs of street children. With no experience or funding, the early days were extremely difficult, but with help from local people, Blue Dragon soon took on a life of its own.

Blue Dragon now serves the needs of over 1,500 highly disadvantaged children, including children and youth who have been trafficked; street children; and children with disabilities. Many Blue Dragon children are in conflict with the law or are victims of crime. Michael’s role in Blue Dragon today is leading the fulfilment of the organisation’s purpose and vision of creating a better world.
Michael Brosowski AM is Founder and CEO of Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation. He is a CNN Hero and a member of the Order of Australia.
