Electric Kicks is Saigon’s longest running indie electro night and we’ve got a special treat this month. We’re collaborating with art collective Sao La’s month long art, music and film event ART WALK to bring you a live electronic showcase of NYC experiment noise/electronic artist STO LEN. Sto captivates his audience by making the world sing. Equipped with amplified gloves, he teases sounds out of every conceivable object and surface he touches – a chair, the floor, his body.

Following this performance, DJs superkid, starchild and sweet b will be rocking the dance floor all night long with an eclectic mix of sounds from indie electro, nu disco, boogie, 80s new wave, 50s/60s and so much more fantastic sounds from around the world.

Sto Len
Sto Len is a printmaker, sculptor, painter, musician and curator with interests in improvisation and experimentation within a variety of media. His process-based sound performances give a musical voice to everyday objects using only contact microphones and analog effect pedals. Sto captivates his audience by making the world sing. Equipped with amplified gloves, he teases sounds out of every conceivable object and surface he touches – a chair, the floor, his body, water hitting the bottom of a metal bowl, and a tree branch picked up on the walk to the club for example. The world becomes his instrument and his hands, the medium.

Sao La: Art Walk 2016
ART WALK brings together art, music and film in a month long program running throughout the entire city. It emphasizes the relationship between community, social contexts and artists: connecting art with the public. This year Sao La invited various artists to work alongside Sao La in programming the month long event. Sao La and 10 artists studios throughout the city are co-curating their spaces and each weekend throughout the month of October, the public is invited to explore the city and these spaces - from District 1 to Thanh Da island, to Binh Thanh through to Cholon and beyond.
