[Photos] Heavy Rain Turns Hanoi Streets Into Rivers

The capital may be making preparations for impending super storms, but the rainy season is already wrecking havoc in Hanoi.

Yesterday afternoon, heavy rains turned city streets into rivers, causing massive traffic jams, disabling motorbikes and making things generally nightmarish for pedestrians.

According to Ha Noi Drainage System Company, overflow happened in Quan Nhan Street, Vu Trong Phung Street, Nguyen Xien Street, Hoang Mai Street and Thanh Dam Street, which lack proper drainage system.

Saigonese can smirk all they want, but it probably won’t be long before we meet a similar fate.
