Hanoi’s X98 Will Open Its Doors This Month

Hanoi’s Zone 9 will be reincarnated in the form of a new alternative art and cultural space called X98 later this month, according Kenh14.

The group behind the ill-fated Zone 9 has found a new home on Hoàng Cầu Street in the skeleton of an old factory. X98’s 15 stores will be located in two separate buildings in the compound, connected by a rusted metal stairway decorated with vibrant designs.

The grand opening is expected to take place on October 10 with boutiques, restaurants, funky cafes and art spaces.

Time will tell if X98 is able to live up to the lofty expectations set by Zone 9 before it was abruptly shuttered late last year
