VND1.6 Billion Found In An Abandoned Air Blade

As of Friday last week, police were still unable to identify the owner of a mysterious Air Blade containing more than VND 1 billion, which was abandoned on a sidewalk in Hoa Binh province. Locals came across the bike on August 16, uncovering a pile of cash in the vehicle's trunk. After discovering the large sum of money, Colonel Bạch Chí Điền of the local police ordered the dismantling of the bike and a further VND 600 million was found within the foot rests, bringing the total to VND 1.6 billion.

“We have sent the money to a bank and can confirm that all the notes are real,” reported the colonel, adding that the majority of the notes are VND 500,000 bills.

By cross-checking the bike’s registration, police have linked the Air Blade to a Hanoian woman named Bích, however her whereabouts are still unknown.

When asked whether the money could be related to drugs, Hoa Binh's Deputy Police Chief Phạm Văn Sử responded: “It is common for criminals to leave behind their narcotics to escape but to leave money behind is very rare.”
