Thai Binh to Erect VND300bn Tower as Province Landmark

Thai Binh is building a VND300 billion (US$13.2 million) tower in the hope that it will be seen as the northern province’s iconic landmark.

As VnExpress reports, on May 4 the provincial People’s Committee was in the process of finalizing the structure’s financial documents so that construction could begin in Q3 this year. Funding for the project will come from the private sector.

According to the design, the 25-story tower will be built in the middle of a lake within the compound of a theme park in Thai Binh City. The total area of the structure will be 16,870 square meters.

The Thai Binh Tower will function mostly as a tourist attraction, with a plan for each floor as follows: the first seven floors will serve as commercial areas; the next five floors will house rooms for exhibitions; the next seven floors have cultural spaces; the 20th floor is reserved for the tech team; the 21st and 22nd floors feature a bell and an observation deck, respectively; and finally, the last three floors are reserved for tourism activities.
