This 92-Year-Old Singaporean is McDonald’s Oldest Employee

While McDonald’s food has proven its ability to withstand the test of time, so has Madam Goh Gwek Eng, the company’s oldest employee.

At 92 years of age, Eng mans the grill at a Singaporean outlet of the fast food conglomerate, a job she took after helping raise five children, reports the Straits Times.

"Now that most of them are working or have their own families, the house is very quiet," said Madam Goh, explaining that boredom ultimately led her to apply for the job.

Twenty years on, she now boasts 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The near-centenarian has mastered the McDonald’s menu, only finding a bit of difficulty with the fries - "I get very hot from standing in front of the fryer" - and with heavy objects.

"My colleagues help me when they see me carrying heavy things or when I can't keep up with orders," Madam Goh told the Straits Times.

Despite the physical demands of the job, Madam Goh pledged to keep serving Big Macs and Happy Meals "…for as long as I am healthy".
