Storytelling Workshop @ The Click

Calling all performers, writers, artists, teachers and curious minds!

Learn to tell tall tales, elaborate fables, mystify your monologues and, newly navigate your narratives.

This workshop offers a space to play and exchange with likeminded tale tellers.

Join two fierce female South African storytellers for a two hour storytelling workshop. Examine how we tell stories about ourselves, people, and the world around us.

This workshop engages participants on how to listen to stories as the first tool to storytelling, making sense of our world and how we speak about it. Participants can expect to learn how to communicate their thoughts and ideas to an audience - whether it’s a boardroom, class room, or dining room. Participants who are performers and theatremakers can engage creatively with a template for critical imagination, and use the workshop as a building block for creating new work.

The dynamic duo, Maude and Nikki, are currently touring Asia with their one woman show TRACKS, a story chronicling the life of Maude Sandham’s grandfather and his family.

Nicola Pilkington is a Johannesburg born multiple disciplinary artist, storyteller and educator. Nikki is passionate about hybrid modes of storytelling, AV work, and documentary film making.

Maude Sandham is a director, actress, and storyteller from Johannesburg. Maude is passionate about auto-ethnographic storytelling, clowning, mask performances, and climate focused work.

Catch them at the workshop or at the performances of their show TRACKS at HRC, Urban Gentry or The Click.
