Digital Storytelling (DST) is a powerful tool used to empower and give voices to marginalised groups, who don’t usually get a chance to be seen or heard.

Community members are taught how to use cameras and with the help of project facilitators, create their own film in their own voice. 

Linh Phan has been working in Vietnam over the past 6 years working with various communities utilising this method to explore various health issues affecting Vietnam. During this Creative Session, Linh will discuss the methodology, the challenges and successes. She will present two projects – Health in the Backyard, a collaboration with Oxford University Clinical Research Unit that explores perceived health risk of animal farmers, and Here and There, which explores immigrant experiences (Please note: Some films screened may be sensitive to viewers as it shows animal slaughtering).
