From the organizer: Gallery Arts-Ventures is pleased to present THE CROSSING, an exhibition of recent works by Vietnamese - French artist Bao Vuong.

For his first solo exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, Bao tells a poignant and affecting story of his Vietnamese past, where he depicts the exile of his family by sea through a series of paintings and installations, mysterious and captivating, projecting nights spent in the open with no certainty of what lays ahead.
Darkness increases fear in those who have just lost their livelihoods. Black pigment dominates this body of work, used to evoke the fear of the exiled. The reflections of light on the relief waves represent the shimmers of hope, echoing the promise for a better world; Bao’s works focus a bleak moment of dark expanse towards an optimistic, yet equally unknown horizon.
