The Delta has been very successful in flattening the Corona Virus Curve just like the rest of Viet Nam. In the aftermath of this pandemic, the Mekong region has seen an increase in new issues along with difficult challenges.
How to get back to normal activities and how to chart a new course of action? These are the questions that the presentation seeks to discuss with ideas and proposed solutions along with some innovative ideas that are currently pilot projects in a number of locations in the Delta. Sustainability is the ultimate goal for the whole Mekong river basin.
We're honoured to have Prof. Dr. Chung Hoang Chuong at The Old Compass on 09th July 2020 to talk about the future of the Mekong delta in the aftermath of Covid-19: On-going issues, new challenges and proposed solutions.
Chung Hoang Chuong was professor of Asian American Studies, City College of San Francisco between 1998-2015 and Associate Professor of Asian American Studies, San Francisco State University 1988-1998.
His interest in the Mekong Delta is more than academic. He was born in Tien Giang province and left Vietnam to study in the US in 1967. He is a representative of the HCMC-San Francisco Friendship Committee and continues to teach in Ho Chi Minh City.
