On our Rooftop, KHOI MAI represents the fun and light-hearted attitude with eclectic selection and dreamy percussive sound, alongside with SOUL JAZZ FUNKSTERS.

1DAN (Deepsystems / Batti Batti / UK)

After many years of honing his sound and learning the craft, 1DAN’s first release appeared in 2011 on respected UK underground deep house label; Atmospheric Existence Recordings. This was followed up by a rash of releases on
the Maltese label Batti Batti with support from DJs such as Jus-Ed, Huxley, Jay Tripwire, Fred P and many others.
Aside from solo studio work, collaborations with Bittersuites' Jon 'Griffin' Gray have resulted in a clutch of releases under their Tales Ov Rossi guise, returning to Atmospheric Existence Recordings with the last release ‘Pieces of a puzzle’ marking the re-launch of UK label DeepSystems.

2019 witnessed the birth of yet another pseudonym; Flank. An output for techno initially gracing the landmark Vietnamese label Pink Room Records. When in the booth, 1DAN’s hybrid DJ style moves from blistering techno to obscure deep house, providing listeners with unique selections that challenge the mind and feet.

DIMITRI (FR)

Music has been a driving force in Dimitri’s life since his early childhood, when he used to go through the family’s vinyl collection. He soon enough landed on the dance floor and it was only a matter of time before he moved behind the decks.

Fond of all things electronic, often dashed with funk and disco, Dimitri likes nothing more than seeing a crowd dance through the night and into the early hours onto the rhythm of old and new sounds.

KHOI MAI (Savage, The Observatory / VN)

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, after traveled near and far, relocated in his home country since 2018 and has been one of a key players in Hanoi ever since. As one of Savage crew members, Khoi represents the fun and light-hearted attitude with eclectic selection and dreamy percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences in use for many dance floors with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

SAINT CYR (FR)

Saigon based, S1cyr is sharpening his groove, to be shared on the dancefloor.

S1cyr started his music education through classical and jazz, while being fully immersed into the 90´s golden era of Hip-Hop. His journey behind the decks started when returning to the Nam, following the path of the pioneers of the local under/over-ground.

His style is defined as raw and sharp or deep and groovy. When awaken, his darker side can push him into more abstract and experimental.

SOUL JAZZ FUNKSTERS (Frequency Radio / UK)

Soul Jazz Funksters was created as a side project by Alan Ritchie in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2017 to have an outlet for his mixes keeping away from House, Techno and Electro which he has predominantly played since the early 90’s. It quickly took off and he started getting more gigs playing Soul, Funk, Nu Jazz, Reggae & Hip Hop than electronic gigs around the capitol city of the Kingdom of Wonder. In 2018 he moved back to his SE Asian roots country Vietnam bringing his deep soulful sounds to the bars and clubs of Nha Trang & Saigon.

The Mixcloud page has gone from strength to strength amassing well over 2000 followers with an impressive 79 mix uploads to date. Watch out for more SJF events and gigs in SE Asia over the coming months with some big plans for venues in Saigon for 2021!
