Cora, Dan Lo (The Obs), Romi @ The Observatory

A feature dripping with variety and shifting rhythm: these 3 will be packing enough sound to take us on a wild journey through the electronic universe, taking in vast expanses of the house and techno soundscapes.

All have plenty of experience in The Obs’ booth: they know exactly how to steer a party here into a sound storm, down into an abyssal deep where time stands still, then back out into a blissed-out cruise for sunrise.

¬ CORA
♫ https://soundcloud.com/corallin-cao

The lady from Hong Kong has projected her no-nonsense approach to techno & house to the floor of the club on many occasions, and has proven herself to be a deep digger that has a talent and natural inclination for depth and darkness.

Cora brings a captivating, elegant and profound selection of electronic sounds whenever she plays; her presence behind the booth is tangible and she makes the room move with electric determination.

¬ DAN LO (The Obs)
♫ mixcloud.com/DanLo/

Dan Lo has been a regular at The Observatory since it first opened and became the third official resident of the club early this year. Playing an eclectic blend of house, disco and techno with frequent movements into afrobeat and other obscurities, he’s likes to fire up a crowd’s impulse to dance through rare and raw sound power.

Coming from Cyprus by way of London, he grew up immersed in many different styles of music, particularly Afrobeat and Reggae, but also Hip Hop, electronic variants and a lot of other sounds from across the world.

¬ ROMI
♫ https://www.mixcloud.com/romihk/

Living in Hong Kong. Romi is an artist who exposes imagination and thought, by experimenting with sound to create his very own music vision.

Romi’s music reflects his wide musical background, and is known for its quality and depth. Before moving to Hong Kong in 2005, he started DJing in the mid 90s, and travelled within Asia where he got influenced by various music genres that fit the subculture of that time. With more than 16 years of experience in the electronic music scene, Romi has made a name for himself in Hong Kong and the broader East Asian region.

Much as his own music productions, Romi’s DJ sets are deep, yet pure – even filled with a certain degree of emptiness. This goes back to Romi’s profound work to free the sound from its original context by means of mathematical precision, and his own code of acoustic and visual aesthetics. It is the emptiness which invites the listener to get lost on an individual journey of possibilities where space is exposed for own imagination. Or simply to enjoy great dance music. What will happen, no one knows until this special moment that only music is able to evoke.

Romi performs at music venues and festivals worldwide. May it be anything; he loves to dive in deep.
