Live Samba Concert feat. A Voz Do Morro
A Voz do Morro was born from the idea of bringing Brazilian tunes to Vietnam. They cover mainly traditional rhythms such as Samba, Pagode, Choro or Bossa Nova - still very popular today, especially on the coastline from Rio de Janeiro up to the North-East region.
The music and the lyrics, though made world-wide famous through the colorful Brazilian Carnival, is above all a message of hope from and for a population with poor living conditions - the "morro", mentionned in many texts, being the sadly famous favela.

Two dj sets will be played on the evening... African and Brazilian Baile Funk.
Coh-hul became interested in African (Nigerian in particular) music after watching the William Onyeabor documentary ("Fantastic Man" found on YouTube) that you should watch if you haven't already. This inspiring tale forced him to delve deeper into music that originates from Africa.
Secondly whilst travelling Brazil he was lucky enough to find himself at a favela funk party in rio... the basslines and exotic drum patterns allowed some of the best dancing he's ever seen and instantly fell in love with that style of music.
It will be his first time playing those genres of music before and after the samba band and can't wait to see how it goes.
