Like many jobs in Vietnam, selling soup in the market makes for a difficult life, living day-by-day without much hope of moving on to a more profitable career.
While life is hard, Co Be’s love for the river and her job is obvious. “If there was no floating market, I would still live on the river because I already fell in love with the river. I would sail along the smaller rivers to sell food to small neighborhoods. I will never give up my boat because I love my career.”
