Saigon Student Creates Vietnam-Themed Alphabet

When Luu Trong Nhan first came across Around the World with Type, a project by Indian design students Rigved Sathe and Payal Jagwani, the 23-year-old student knew he could create an equally stunning Vietnam-themed counterpart.

The original project uses the English alphabet to highlight some of the world's greatest cities, taking each letter and stylizing it with images of Mumbai and Paris, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Qatar and Copenhagen.

Through a combination of online research and conversations with friends and family, Nhan set out to fashion his own travel-inspired creation, showcasing some of the country's most attractive destinations by way of the 29-letter Vietnamese alphabet.

The finished product – Vietnam Typo – features some of the country's best spots, from the pristine beaches of Con Dao to the foggy hills of Sapa, the colorful fishing boats of Mui Ne, the limestone karsts of Ha Long and, of course, the bright lights of Saigon.
