Event Rewind: Halloween Hẻm Jam

While people across the city embraced this weekend's Halloween festivities, 3A Station was especially lively as Saigoneer joined forces with GiantStep Gallery and iLL Beats Saigon to put on the first-ever Halloween Hẻm Jam.

In the days before the event, GiantStep went all out, covering the alley in original artwork and spooky decorations. The end result included dozens of spiderwebs, fake limbs and ghosts, as well as some eerie Halloween-themed graffiti to add to the atmosphere.

By the time Friday evening rolled around, partygoers arrived in their Halloween finest. The usual pirates and witches were wandering about, but a few turned up in more creative costumes, such as a zombie construction worker, a Dracula and a Vietnamese schoolgirl. For those who arrived in ordinary attire, a costume corner and face painting services helped to jazz up everyday outfits.

Throughout the night, DJs Jase Nguyen, Jin Nguyen, Slowbird and Akihito kept the crowd moving, while MC Shaman Jah took charge of a few Halloween games and both Platinum and Phat Rooster were on hand to pour beer for everyone. The vibe was lively from start to finish with plenty of dancing, entertainment and general foolishness.

All told, it was a successful start to the Halloween weekend.
