[Video] A Modern-Day Homage to 'Sai Gon Dep Lam'

First released around 1965, “Sai Gon Dep Lam” became an instant classic the moment it hit the airwaves. The iconic song is now considered a musical embodiment of old Saigon and has spawned dozens of covers over the years.

In 2012, collaborators from artist collective Viet Nam The World Tour made their own homage to the song with a short dance video featuring Matt “Dumbo” Nguyen, part of Asian-American dance crew Poreotics, the group which won season five of America's Best Dance Crew.

In the video below, Dumbo's robotic dance moves are set against the backdrop of present-day Saigon's skyline.
