International Fashion Week Coming To HCMC Next Month

Prep your wardrobes. Fashion Week is coming to HCMC next month.

The event, the first of its kind in Vietnam, is a collaboration between MultiMedia JSC and FIDé Fashion Week, with the support of the Asia Fashion Association and the Atelier Chardon Savard Paris Fashion Institute.

“Vietnam International Fashion Week will be a great chance to introduce excellent designers…in Asia as well as international ones,” said Ms. Lê Thị Quỳnh Trang, Head of MultiMedia’s board of directors.

Dr. Frank Cintamani, head of Asia Fashion Association and FIDé Fashion Week, said that the show would feature spectacular collections at international standards, with about 20 globally renowned designers putting on shows, according to Vietnam Plus:

“The foreign designers include French duo Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov and Italian Antonio Grimaldi, who will be making their maiden appearance in Vietnam.

Korea 's Zio Song, governor of the Asian Couture Federation and renowned menswear designer, will present the closing show.

Frederick Lee of Singapore and Nguyen Cong Tri of Vietnam will also showcase their latest collections alongside invited members Tamae Hirokawa (SOMARTA) of Japan, Roj Singhakul (ISSUE) of Thailand, and Tsolmandakh Munkhuu (Tsolo Munkh) of Mongolia.”

Vietnam will have 8 designers in the show, which will take place at the recently completed Gem Convention Center in District 1, including Adrian Anh Tuan, Chung Thanh Phong and Thanh Nga.

"The event will be a unique showcase of the exceptional design talent that exists in Vietnam. The recognition of the artistry and workmanship of our designers will be brought to new heights by placing them on a truly international platform," said Le Thi Quynh Trang, founder of Multimedia Joint Stock Company, said.

Sounds like this will be a great opportunity for the Vietnamese fashion industry to show the world what it’s made of.
