Hamleys, The World’s Oldest Toy Store To Set Up Shop In Saigon

District 7’s VivoCity will soon be home to Vietnam’s first Hamleys, the world’s oldest toy store.

The 800 sqm shop will take over two levels of the newly opened shopping mall and mark the company’s 56th store and 18th international market, according to Inside Retail Asia.

Hamleys' Saigon location will include “thousands of quality approved toys and all Hamleys iconic features including, opportunities for children to play, engaging store design, expert service and toy demonstrations,” according to the retail website.

Richard Trinh and Mai Son Pham’s Maison JSC has been selected as Hamley’s franchise partner in Vietnam. Maison is one of the country's largest retail distributors, representing companies such as Topshop/Topman, Mango, Karen Millen, Coast, Bebe, Warehouse, Oasis, Charles & Keith, Pedro,
Accessorize, Monsoon Children, Havaianas and NYS Sunglasses. It plans to add CH by Carolina Herrera, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Max Mara, Max & Co and Santoni to the list in the near future.

Hamleys was founded in London by William Hamley in 1760 and the company’s 5,000 sqm, 7-floor Regent Street flagship location holds the crown for the largest toy store on earth.
