[Photos] Abandoned Nam Dinh Church Being Swallowed by the Sea

Nam Định Province is full of beautiful churches, but while many remain in good condition, the Heart Church, located on Xương Điền beach, has seen better times. With each passing day, the now abandoned structure moves closer into the embrace of the waves and sea.

Designed by French architects and completed in 1943, the Heart Church was once at the center of a sprawling beachside community. While the homes that once surrounded it have long since been relocated, the building has steadily deteriorated since it was closed in 1996.

Today, its skeleton serves as a stark reminder of the impermanence of humanity compared to that of nature.
