In their latest episode, the team behind Hanoi-based Renovation Generation invites not one but four guests to their studio to share their hopes for the future and thoughts on the idea of home.
Mia, Mai, Giang and Boba are all in their late teens and have received an international education from a young age. While their thoughts and feelings at times still have the playful vibrancy of youth, the four young women have also shown that they’re well-informed and sensible individuals through their musings about privilege and Vietnam’s traditional customs.
“I think something that we should really keep and I feel like we are losing it, is the language itself,” Mia told Renovation Generation when asked about something she wants to keep about Vietnam. “Vietnamese youth are not using Vietnamese as eloquently as they used to. The literature is losing its readers. Embrace your language you know.”
