Vietnam to Purchase 160 Old Train Cars From China

Remember those flashy five-star trains Vietnam recently added to its fleet? Well, they're about to get some company.

Hanoi Railways is in negotiations with the Kunming Railway Bureau to purchase over 100 old train cars to be used in Vietnam, reports VnExpress. The vintage vehicles, ranging from 12 to 20 years old, could serve as part of Vietnam's ongoing effort to improve its domestic train travel services.

Hanoi Railways recently received permission from its parent company, Vietnam Railways Corporation, to acquire 160 of the used train cars. There is no word yet on whether the cars will receive an upgrade or not, but we're hoping they get at least a few new accoutrements given their age.
