The session will discuss the process of writing and preparing the “Introduction to American Literature” anthology for Vietnamese educators and students, published by the HCMC University of Education this past summer (2016).

The speaker will read excerpts from the introductions he wrote to guide Vietnamese students through this material and share some samples of the works anthologized. The session also will discuss the process of choosing the authors and excerpts for the anthology with Vietnamese coeditors and preparing the book for publication.
