Back Events Near Me » The 2017 Presidential Transition @ The American Center

Between the election on November 8 and the inauguration of the new president on January 20, there is much work to be done to ensure a smooth transition from the one presidency to the next.

Appointments to the cabinet and other key posts are among the most important tasks, but there is much behind the scenes coordination that also takes place. The transition can be more challenging when the sitting president and the president-elect have different policy positions as is the case in 2017. This presentation will give an overview of the transition process in general and review some of the specific features of the current transition. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
