From the organizer: Love at first sight. Is that what happened to Han-Ki, the famously feared scumbag?

No, no, scumbags don’t fall in love. But it did all started with a glance. As Han-Ki was walking pass a public park, his sight fell upon grad-school student Sun-Hwa, patiently waiting for her boyfriend. The look was received with disdain and drove to a kiss, a stolen kiss that later led to the kidnapping of the young woman and her captivity in Seoul’s red-light district. As she is forced into prostitution by a sly strategy of Han-Ki, we follow Sun-Hwa’s slow transformation and acceptance that her life will, forever, be changed.
With Bad Guy, Kim Ki-Duk forces us in an awkward exploration of a Stockholm-syndrome case, a succession of dark events that can’t be confronted with easy condemnation or resolution.
