Wolf Blass Saigon 10's - Season 4 @ RMIT University

This year marks the 4th consecutive year  Al Fresco’s Group (AFG) have hosted an International Rugby Tournament at RMIT University. Once again, AFG and Castelo Group HK are proud to have Wolf Blass as the official naming rights partner for the 2018 tournament.

The tournament continues to grow, increasing to 38 teams from more than 10 countries. The Grade A competition will see 17 teams battle it out for honors whilst there will be 16 teams taking to the field in the Veteran’s competition. It is also pleasing to see all 5 Female Rugby teams return to compete this year.
Vietnam is now well and truly on the map for touring International Rugby Teams, with many of the teams seeing it as an opportunity to not only play rugby, but to investigate the beauty of this country with extended holidays. The focus for the organiser’s of Wolf Blass Saigon Rugby 10s is in making sure that it is an entertaining sporting event.
Whilst the sporting action is over two days, most teams will arrive on the Friday evening where the entertainment starts as they converge on the Equatorial Hotel in D5 for a meet and greet pool party.
The event will also again be a family friendly affair on the Saturday and Sunday, where a supervised kids zone will allow the parents some time to take in the games knowing that the kids are being well cared for.
Saturday is when the majority of round robin games are played, but due to the numbers we have this year, some of them spill over to the Sunday morning. Sunday is still finals day and this is the day where the intensity will increase as teams battle it out to be named champions of the Wolf Blass Saigon 10’s.
The popularity of the tournament meant that this year we had 12 teams on a stand-by list to be included in the competition, Mr Glenn Murphy from AFG has stated that the challenge is now on for AFG to find a solution so that all teams can be catered for in the 2019 competition. The potential of growth for this event is immeasurable.
We look forward to this year’s event and are very appreciative of the support of all the events sponsors, it is this support that enables the Wolf Blass Saigon 10’s to continue to grow and be the marquee event for Rugby 10’s in the region.
This is NOT just a great couple of days of International Rugby, it is a great couple of days out for the whole family!!!
