Choco Pie Sales in Vietnam Hit 2 Billion

On June 8, Orion, the maker of the addictive Choco Pie, announced that since 2006, the company has sold over 2 billion of their cakes in Vietnam, according to Business Korea. That’s 22 per person if you average that out across Vietnam’s 90 million+ population.

With total sales of $294 million in Choco Pies alone, Orion has dominated Vietnam’s confectionary market since 2010, with the country’s consumption second only to China.

The South Korean company introduced the Choco Pie in 1974.

But the Vietnamese have nothing on North Korean workers at the Kaesong Industrial Complex. Prior to the 2013 Korean Crisis, these workers would receive 20 cakes in addition to their wages, often selling them on the black market.

Forget Bitcoin, we’re gonna invest in some Choco Pies.
