Deepening Collaboration with Vietnam’s Tourism Ecosystem

The expanded office in Ho Chi Minh City provides a larger workspace for Trip.com Group’s Vietnam-based teams, whose headcount has more than doubled over the past couple of years. The team supports partner sourcing, business development, travel network management, localised marketing coordination, customer service collaboration - functions that help Vietnamese tourism businesses reach international audiences more effectively.

The milestone reflects Trip.com Group’s broader focus on strengthening its local tourism network in key destinations and source markets, including Vietnam, while continuing to support travel demand across inbound and outbound routes.

“Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting travel markets, with rich cultural experiences, strong destination appeal, and a growing network of tourism businesses ready to engage global travellers,” said Ms Cindy Chu, Market Director, Vietnam & Taiwan, Accommodation Business Group, Trip.com. “By strengthening our partner engagement capabilities in Vietnam, we aim to help more local tourism partners connect with international users across Trip.com Group’s global network, while supporting smoother and more relevant travel experiences.”

This follows a period of strong momentum in Trip.com Group in Vietnam, supported by expanding strategic collaboration with local hospitality, airline, attraction, and tourism partners.

Trip.com Group currently connects global travellers with more than 15,000 accommodation partners in Vietnam and major domestic airlines, helping local tourism businesses reach users worldwide through Trip.com Group’s international platforms. Recent collaborations include newly signed MOUs with Sun Hospitality & Entertainment Group and Vinpearl Group. These collaborations support the promotion of Vietnam tourism offerings to international travellers across Trip.com Group’s global platforms.

Trip.com Group is also exploring collaborations to promote Vietnam destinations to international travellers, including potential cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City tourism stakeholders and a planned “Super Destination” campaign to showcase Vietnam across Ctrip and Trip.com’s international sites.

Vietnam is emerging as one of ASEAN’s most dynamic travel destinations, supported by its cultural heritage, diverse experiences, safety appeal, and growing range of tourism products. These strengths position the country as an increasingly attractive destination for international visitors, while Vietnamese travellers are also showing strong interest in regional outbound travel.

Vietnam’s Digital-First Travellers Point to New Growth Opportunities

Vietnam continues to demonstrate strong travel growth, supported by a digital-native population seeking flexible, value-led, and experience-oriented journeys.

Trip.com Group’s platform data shows continued momentum among Vietnamese users, with new app downloads growing 63% year-on-year in 2025 to reach 1.8 million app installs, while monthly active users rose 70% year-on-year in 2025.

Platform data also shows particularly strong growth in mid-haul flight products connecting Vietnam to Northeast Asian destinations such as China, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, with bookings growing 103% year-on-year in 2025. Domestic hotel bookings in Vietnam grew 75% year-on-year in 2025, reflecting sustained demand for domestic accommodation and regional travel.

Top outbound destinations booked by Vietnamese users include Thailand, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, while leading domestic destinations include Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang. For inbound travel to Vietnam, the strongest inbound destinations so far in 2026 include Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc, with Da Nang–Hoi An and Sapa among the fastest-growing inbound destinations year-on-year.

“Our goal is to make travel more accessible, seamless, and enjoyable for users while helping partners capture demand from around the world,” added Ms Chu. “As Vietnamese travellers become more confident and digitally engaged, we will continue working with local partners to connect Vietnam more closely with global travel opportunities.”
