Ho Chi Minh City, 8 October 2026 — Trip.com today released its latest concert tourism data, highlighting a major surge in domestic and cross-border travel among Vietnamese music fans. Ahead of the October 2026 concerts, such as the “BIGBANG 2026–2027 World Tour < XX : COSMOS>”, "Tình Hà Say Hi" and "Anh Trai Vượt Ngàn Chông Gai" flight bookings to Hanoi1 and Ho Chi Minh City2 (HCMC) during the concert period rose by 74% and 77% year-on-year (YoY). Bookings to regional music hubs like Bangkok3 and Kuala Lumpur4 around the dates for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour in October and November surged 7 and 22 times respectively above daily baselines. To support this growing demand, Trip.com has launched a dedicated campaign offering tailored travel deals and seamless booking solutions for music lovers.

Bookings Surge for Blockbuster Concert Windows in Hanoi and HCMC

Domestic concert tourism in Vietnam is reaching heights this October, led by major shows in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. For the “BIGBANG 2026–2027 World Tour < XX : COSMOS>” concert taking place on 24 to 25 October at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi), travel demand surged immediately following key event milestones. The 11 June tour announcement moved travel demand on the same day for the concert window, while the start of the presale on 14 August sparked an even bigger spike in flight and hotel bookings, about six times higher than the baseline.

Overall flight bookings into Hanoi for travel during 23 to 26 October recorded an increase of 74%, while the number of passengers rose by 76% versus the same period in 20251. This also contributed to the overall rise in demand for inbound travel to Hanoi for the month of October by 45% YoY, with Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul, Taipei, Nagoya, Da Nang and Busan among the top source cities for visitors.

For music fans, these trips are also being planned much earlier. On average, their flights were booked 70 days ahead of their travel date, with 51% booking their flights more than 60 days in advance. Hotels were booked 76 days ahead on average, with 65% booking their hotels more than 60 days in advance. In fact, hotels located within 3 km of the My Dinh Stadium were already sold out by 29 July, with hotel bookings for 23 to 24 October5 surging to about 15 times the October daily average.

For HCMC, the host city for the "Tinh Hà Say Hi" concert taking place on 17 to 18 October at Vạn Phúc City, and the "Anh Trai Vượt Ngàn Chông Gai" concert taking place on 17 to 18 October at The Global City, travel bookings experienced a similar surge. Flight bookings to HCMC for the concert dates 16-19 October rose by 77% YoY, while hotel bookings for 16 to 17 October surged by 621% YoY.

Cross-Border "Concert Chasers" Booking Early Across Southeast Asia

In addition to travelling domestically for concerts, Vietnamese travellers are increasingly flying abroad for international music events. For The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour in Bangkok (11 October show), bookings for travel to Bangkok between 9 to 11 October was more than 7 times the volume of the October daily average. Fans also booked their travel earlier – 72 days ahead of their departure date versus 49 days for other October trips to Bangkok. The Weeknd’s concerts in Kuala Lumpur (4 to 5 November shows) also registered significant growth in travel demand, with bookings for travel to Kuala Lumpur between 2 to 4 November coming in at nearly 22 times the volume of the November daily average. Fans booked their trips even further in advance, booking 95 days ahead of their departure date versus 86 days for other November travel.

Another upcoming series of concerts – the “BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’” – is also contributing to the regional tourism demand. According to Trip.com booking data, 88% of travel bookings to Bangkok in the month of December are for travel during the period of 1 to 5 December (ahead of the BTS concerts on 3, 5 and 6 December), while 91% of travel bookings to Kuala Lumpur in the month of December are for travel during the period of 9 to 12 December (ahead of the BTS concerts on 12 and 13 December). 73% of the travel bookings to Singapore in the month of December are for travel during the period of 17 to 22 December (ahead of the BTS concerts on 17, 19, 20 and 22 December). Data also shows that Vietnamese fans booked their trips early, with 49% of the bookings to Bangkok and 45% of the bookings to Singapore secured during September alone, on an average of 112 days and 124 days ahead of their travel dates to the respective cities.

Compared to bookings recorded during the same period last year, bookings to Bangkok in December 2026 surged by 1,116%, while bookings to Singapore increased by 696% YoY – underscoring the massive appeal of concert tourism in driving cross-border travel demand.
