The recently unveiled Londoner Macao resort in Macao has become a prominent landmark on the Cotai Strip. Developed by Las Vegas Sands and Sands China, The Londoner Macao celebrated its grand opening with the presence of renowned British football icon, David Beckham. The resort's unique features include a striking replica of London's iconic Big Ben clock tower, Houses of Parliament facade and a full-scale reproduction of the famed Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain with its Anteros Statue in London’s Piccadilly Circus.
The grand opening of The Londoner Macao was a star-studded affair that drew both locals and international visitors. The presence of David Beckham added an extra layer of glamour and excitement to the celebration that included performances by pianist Lang Lang, Hong Kong pop singer G.E.M., Chinese musical theater performer Ayanga and English singer Jamie Cullum.
“Sands China has delivered on Sheldon Adelson’s vision through the ongoing development of Cotai. Where 250 acres of empty reclaimed land once sat, we have built one of the world’s leading tourist destinations with an incredible future ahead of it,” said Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Robert G. Goldstein on stage at the opening event.
At the heart of The Londoner Macao lies its most remarkable feature, a towering replica of London's famous Big Ben clock tower. Standing tall at an impressive 96 meters, the attention to detail in recreating this iconic landmark was clearly a top priority for its designers.
The hotel offers an extensive selection of luxurious accommodations and entertainment options. With over 6,000 rooms, it stands as the largest hotel in Macao, with rooms designed to reflect the aesthetics of London's architecture and British interior design.
Beyond the rooms, guests can indulge in British-inspired cuisine at various restaurants throughout the property, from traditional English afternoon tea to fine dining experiences.
F&B is an important element of the hotel's identity. Resort Brasserie, is home to a fusion of British and international flavors while Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, led by the renowned celebrity chef, serves up traditional British pub fare like bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, and sticky toffee pudding. Embracing the richness of Macao's culinary scene, The Londoner Macao also features Dynasty 8, where guests can enjoy Cantonese cuisine, and The Bella Italian Restaurant showcases a strong selection of Italian dishes.
Though its large casino will be one of the core centers of activity in the hotel, a plethora of entertainment options are also deeply enshrined in the property's DNA. The state-of-the-art theater hosts world-class performances, including musicals, concerts, and live shows. Visitors can also immerse themselves in British culture by exploring the resort's retail street, where they can indulge in luxury shopping and experience the charm of British-style retail.
The Shoppes at The Londoner, the resort's high-end shopping mall, features a wide array of international and British brands, flanked by a huge open lobby which is the setting for a costumed “Changing of the Guard” performance inspired by the daily ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
