Most Vietnamese TV commercials are pretty much the same: there's a bit of dancing, a few graphics and a handful of attractive young people parading across the screen. Everything is glossy, well-produced and, if we're being honest, a little boring.

Enter Ogilvy & Mather's Saigon office. The massive international ad agency recently produced a TV spot for Royal Westminster Jewelry that showcases a cheeky, more creative side to the world of small screen advertising.
In the video, posted on YouTube, a man grumbles about the cavity search he's enduring at the hands of a stone-cold airport security agent. Bent over a table, he pleads with the woman to let him go after having had the same unpleasant experience in Hanoi before getting on his flight.
Thanks to her very thorough search, the woman eventually discovers some contraband which explains the whole point of the commercial. We'll leave the end for you to watch below, but overall it's pretty refreshing – albeit slightly gross – to see some humor injected into local television advertising. If only all TV commercials could be this entertaining.
