BackArts & Culture » [Photos] Central Vietnam Fishing Village Gets Artistic Upgrade

One fishing village in central Vietnam received a colorful makeover thanks to a team of South Korean artists.

On Tuesday, the Quang Nam People's Committee and the South Korean embassy in Vietnam inaugurated Tam Thanh as the country's first-ever mural village, reports VnExpress. Over 100 houses in the village were selected to serve as canvasses for South Korean volunteers, who painted countryside scenes and portraits of the villagers onto their walls.

Drawing inspiration from South Korean mural villages, provincial authorities expect Tam Thanh's artistic makeover to help with tourism development in the area as well as raising awareness for environmental protection.
