The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre invites you to the opening of two exhibitions: 'Empty Forest' by Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn and 'Remnant' by Lê Thế Lãm.

‘Empty Forest’ by Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn - showcasing film, sculpture, photography and performance – reveals a landscape where the industry of ailing spiritual beliefs is feeding the most wretched of human desires, to irreversible effect; and where the voice of the endangered sits on the edge of extinction. ‘Remnant’ - the third Materialize exhibition of 2017 - brings us into Lê Thế Lãm’s own world, where lies the sorrow and anxiety of living in post-war Vietnam. Thế Lãm’s works depict different states of a ‘silent death’, using the presence of closed coffins, lingering shadow-like humans, a dark color palette… rendering the ambience walled and claustrophobic.
