Restless, Curious: Bearing Witness through Photography @ Noirfoto

Opening of the photo exhibition "Restless, Curious: Bearing Witness through Photography"

Six years ago, Dennis and Patrick Weinert started making their first steps in documentary photography and filmmaking. Although at first the brothers were mainly driven by their urge for adventure and their curiosity about the world around them, they quickly had to realise their travels also created the responsibility to share what they have seen and experienced with audiences at home.

Now, the brothers regularly work for German and European TV to create journalistic documentaries about social and environmental issues, humanitarian crises and conflict. On the side, they still take photographs, of which some have recently been published in their photobook "Resilienz" along with journal entries and field notes.

In their exhibition "Restless, Curious" the brothers now want to present a selection of their work ranging from an Ebola outbreak and civil war in Central Africa, to photographs about the Himalayas in Nepal, LGBTQ Communities in India and armed conflict or refugees in Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The opening of the exhibition will be filmed for an upcoming personal documentary project of the Weinert Brothers. In case you would not like to be filmed while visiting the exhibition, please reach out to us or the camera operator on the day of the exhibition opening.

Visitors will be able to view the photographic exhibition at Noirfoto Darkroom-Studio-Gallery from 8th February until 20th February.
