The healthcare industry has seen substantial shifts in the last several years. Developments such as telemedicine, wearable devices & mobile apps, big-data-driven diagnostics, and others have improved health outcomes. A global trend from hospital-centric models towards patient-centric models seems to be happening, and Covid-19 may accelerate that trend as patients become more inclined to avoid hospital stays whenever possible. Yet in Vietnam and broader Southeast Asia, this transition is still in its infancy. AmCham’s Innovation in Healthcare event, a joint initiative of AmCham’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiative and the Healthcare Committee, aims to stimulate discussion on the regional trends, opportunities, and challenges and share stories from exciting Vietnam-based healthcare startups.
