For over 40 years since its first appearance in Singapore with the aim of recognising Southeast Asian artists and providing them with the opportunity to showcase their works to a wider audience, the 'UOB Painting of the Year' competition, organized by UOB (United Overseas Bank), will officially be present in Vietnam, with its primary goal is to support established and emerging artists from Vietnam, helping them professionalise their painting careers and reach the international art market.

In collaboration with local creatives and communities such as The Lab, Ươm Art Hub, NEO-, and Cổ Động, UOB Painting of the Year offers a series of exciting activities for art enthusiasts in Vietnam. Aligned with this year's theme, 'Uncover your passion for art,' we aim to highlight the creative talents of Vietnamese artists.

The main event - Open Studio – will be held on Sunday 16 July 2023. There will be a community painting session, a talkshow, a mini concert featuring Thịnh Suy, Nhím and Châu Nhi.

Our ‘Travelling Art Studio’ workshops have been organised to inspire and help you uncover your passion for art through different art materials: ‘Stencil Cô Mía’ by SOSO FACES, ‘Neo Bóng Mây Trôi’ (water marbling) by Navigator Studio, ‘Pattern of the city’ (Indigo dyeing) by Sunday Project.
