“After about 15 years of pursuing pop art, although it is not easy, Tran Trung Linh still tries to keep his laughter from being forgotten. Originally, the laughter comes from the spirit of demystifying the idol or symbol. Nonetheless, Tran Trung Linh does not attack, but only reveals a different approach, a different perspective, to make the idol or symbol become more lively and closer to people today. Laughter also comes from eliminating the canonicality and centrality of the subject, to bring about another peripheral story, another situation and another existence. Many paintings in the Ha Ha Ha pop art series are a state of contradiction between the external and the intrinsic; between laughter and the memorable & the forgotten; between the exaggerated and the subtle, between the seriousness and wit, playfulness…
