MoT+++ is pleased to present Once Upon a Time, a solo exhibition by Tuyp Tran. Featuring 11 new works created between 2020 and 2022, it immerses viewers in a captivating exploration of storytelling, myth, and imagination.

'Tuýp Trần’s Once Upon A Time series tells the story of Genesis through an exploration of cosmic ontology. His 12 artworks, from “Dragon and Fairy” (The Beginning) to “Playing Gods” (2022) unravel the collision of our human experience with realms which we cannot perceive. Embedded with religious symbolism such as reincarnation within repetitive geometrical nets, the inexplicable temporality of existence is rendered through sporadic signs of various epochs and myths, while probing into the existential dichotomy of our present time.' - excerpt from exhibition text by Charlotte Mourgue d'Algue -

Tuyp Tran's (b. 1988, Vietnam) practice is dedicated to creating intricate multilayered paint and ink compositions that demand considerable time not only for their creation but viewer interpretation. Tuyp's compositions transcend specific historical contexts but resonate deeply with universal themes, inviting viewers to explore the intricacies of the human experience.
