Gãy #21: Cinema Night

Hiiii everyone, we’re back!!! What a wonderful summer it’s been – full of meetings, partings, and coming even closer together. Have you accomplished what you set out to do? If not, that’s okay – because where there’s a story, there’s a film. Remember when we were kids, lying around with a glass of milk, watching movies with our family like it was a daily ritual? Remember those times when someone sat in silence, burying themselves in film after film, day after day – as if only in those scenes could we resonate with characters, have our pain shared, and feel truly heard and understood? And when we were together, Sundays were for going to the cinema – a crowded yet intimate place, where nobody noticed us, and somehow, our hands found each other.

We’re still on the same Cống Quỳnh street where the very first Gãy nights began, but this time we’ll be exploring a new venue, once known as Thăng Long Cinema. Many of us still remember DC Club here – a space that gave us so much of what we call the passion of youth. Now it returns with a new face as CINE Sài Gòn. Like frames capturing time itself, flickering to the rhythm of joyful music, we hope to create even more beautiful memories together. Or, if nothing else, Gãy simply wishes that we can inspire each other and fuel the journey ahead. Let’s celebrate the upcoming National Day with an incredible lineup of talented artists: DJs Nodey, Larria, a special dance performance from MK TUT, Adam Kraft all the way from San Francisco, USA, and many more local artists.

And to honor cinema – all directors are invited free of charge. So dress your best and turn heads, my future movie stars!
