More than 350 years ago, groups of Chinese migrants who opposed the Qing dynasty and sought to restore the Ming dynasty, known as the Minh Hương people, arrived in Southern Vietnam to establish new lives. Through many historical changes, Minh Hương families continued to grow and played an extremely important role in the development of Chợ Lớn, especially during its golden period in the first four decades of the 20th century. Traces of these families can still be found throughout the area, containing many fascinating stories about how the Minh Hương community integrated with Vietnamese culture right in the heart of Chợ Lớn.

Minh Hương Cự Tộc is a 3-kilometer walking trip exploring the traces of prominent Minh Hương families in District 5, offering deeper insight into this unique community of Vietnamese people of Chinese descent.

Estimated time: 9:00AM - 2:00PM, Sunday, March 22nd, 2026

Itinerary: Sites to visit and learn about include Minh Hương Gia Thạnh Communal House; the streets associated with the Kha, Khương, Lý, and Trần families; and Nghĩa Nhuận Assembly Hall.

Program fee: 700,000 VND, including breakfast, lunch, coffee, bottled water, and materials.

Program conditions: The program will take place with a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 15 participants.

Refund policy:

• If the program does not take place: 100% refund.
• Cancel at least 48 hours in advance: 100% refund.
• Cancel 24–48 hours in advance: 50% refund.
• Other cases: No refund.

Children policy:

• Children under 10 accompanying parents: 50% of the adult fee.
• Children from 10 to under 16 years old: 75% of the adult fee.
• From 16 years old: Full adult fee.
